“Loose Parts” are materials that children can manipulate, move about, modify and have power over while in PLAY.
They provide endless possibilities, children are in control of all their actions, and their play becomes more interesting.
When children work with loose parts, their play becomes more flexible.
They are free to enjoy every moment of the experience; NO PRESSURE, NO STRESS, NO WORRIES!
Loose Parts are materials needed in creating an EXCITING and STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT for children. These spectacular objects can create peace, serenity and harmony in the environment.

ReplyDeleteI have a question for you. How do you get your children to play with loose parts in a nondestructive way? I have introduced "gems", rocks and tree cookies to my classroom and the boys in my room just throw them around or dump them all together. How can I encourage them to play with a purpose? Any advice you can give would be helpful!!
